There are three main metrics for evaluating TN magazine: an annual reader’s survey, online viewing statistics and annual employee focus groups.
In the 2019 readership survey, 82% of TxDOT employees stated that they read TN magazine, a slight decrease from 84% in 2018. Eighty-eight percent of respondents believe TN adequately covers TxDOT districts and divisions statewide, up from 81 percent in 2018. Eighty-six percent said that they read at least half.
Online views for each issue average between 3,000 and 4,000 visits per two-month period.
In the 2019 focus groups, 79% of participants rated TN as excellent or good.
TN is produced with a five person staff and covers stories from the entire state of Texas, no easy task. We are assisted by the many employees in the districts and divisions who keep us informed about accomplishments and milestones throughout the state.
