The Annual Report shares Invest Atlanta’s results while highlighting strategies to address the needs of all Atlantans. Many results are quantitative, such as jobs or affordable housing units created. The bigger outcome is the impact made on people’s lives, so we took a deliberate approach to tell engaging, personal stories of Atlantans who benefited from our work.
First-time homebuyers, long-time residents, small business owners and entrepreneurs share their experiences of how Invest Atlanta has helped them in vignettes throughout the report. Their voices represent the many other Atlantans who have likewise been positively impacted by Invest Atlanta programs and initiatives.
Invest Atlanta’s diverse constituency includes small business owners, housing developers, site selectors, homebuyers, homeowners and renters. The primary audience for the report is those interested in learning more about our work, e.g., Atlanta City Council Members and city residents, while also targeting those interested in doing business in Atlanta.
The most relevant tangible and intangible results of the report include an increased understanding of our services and investments and an overall awareness that Invest Atlanta works closely with city officials and public/private connections on a long-term strategy to better the city of Atlanta and all its citizens.
Within a week of its release, the Annual Report generated 2,527 social media impressions between Invest Atlanta’s Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram pages. The report was also shared via Invest Atlanta’s monthly newsletter “Impact & Insights” and the website.
Production of the 2020 Annual Report immediately followed Invest Atlanta’s $18 million COVID-19 Small Business Relief Program, which entailed the largest marketing campaign in the agency’s history. Though challenging the team’s stamina amidst the tolls of the COVID-19 pandemic and remote collaboration, the Invest Atlanta creative team persisted in order to produce an engaging deliverable that captures the full scope of Invest Atlanta’s efforts in a succinct way. Notably, the creative team had far fewer photography assets than expected because of stay at home orders and other COVID-19 restrictions but overcame this through a graphic-based design strategy.
As Atlanta’s official economic development authority, Invest Atlanta has a mission to build vibrant equitable communities and increase economic prosperity for all Atlantans. With programs, initiatives and investments as diverse as they are numerous, the 2020 Annual Report captures the essence of Invest Atlanta’s work: Moving Atlanta Forward.
