The goal was to create a spot to provide for State use to communicate to 18-34 year old men the dangers and potential impacts of non-compliance with seat belt laws. A special emphasis was placed on reaching male drivers of pickups trucks, who are less likely than the national average to use seat belts and the spot was to be provided for retagging (customization) to states upon request.

To date, 15 states have requested the spot to be retagged for their use.
Production of the spot, including a shoot on location in North Carolina, was completed over the summer of 2020 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Navigating the uncertainty of the public health emergency and the resulting constraints imposed on production made innovation and adaptability the watchwords of this project. Despite these hurdles, over the course of the two-day shoot at multiple locations, we were able to capture a powerful story to highlight the public health and safety benefits of seat belts.
A concept ripped literally from the headlines, this project overcame the challenges of a global pandemic to orchestrate a remote production that reached men with a lifesaving message.
