Baytown Community Survey Infographics
City of Baytown Public Affairs

Thomas Reeves, Director of Public Affairs
The city administered a survey to Baytown residents during the summer of 2021 as part of an ongoing effort to involve citizens in long-range planning and improving the quality of city services.

The survey and its responses will allow the City Council and city staff to identify and address many of the opportunities and challenges facing the community.

Infographics were created to easily communicate key findings of the survey that could be sent out over social media. The infographics focused on the overall citizen satisfaction index, community safety, and investment priorities for the future.
The audience for the infographics included followers on Baytown’s city social media platforms—Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. These platforms are comprised of a combined 55,000 followers, 43.7% of which are citizens of Baytown.
The posts reached over 23,000 community members and had almost 800 post engagements.
Community survey results are innately data heavy and comprised of governmental jargon that tend to be difficult for the community at large to easily navigate. By creating the infographics, the City was able to easily communicate points of pride for the community and priorities that the City would focus on in the future.
The City of Baytown was able to create a segment of four infographics sent out over social media that clearly communicated points of pride for the community and priorities that the City would focus on in the future based on their 2021 Community Survey findings.
